Q-Con XX!

It has been a thousand years since I wrote a journal entry. I'm just back from Q-con, and by 'just back' I mean that I arrived home hours ago and I'm only now starting to feel close to normal again after taking off lots of binding, makeup and very painful shoes.
This year went fantastically. I think the only thing I have to complain about it that £150 worth of merch I bought over the three days. I'll be stocked up on manga, necklaces & plushies for a while at least. I was doomed by the fact that they had over double the amount of stalls this year and the artist alley was fantastic.
I was actually very proud of how my main cosplay for Q-con turned out this year. I was worried before the convention because the binder I ordered still hadnt arrived but it turned up the morning of the convention so that saved the day. Sadly I was unable to get the correct boots and tights/stockings for my Mephisto cosplay, mainly because the boots would not have been made in time for the con so I had to do without, and no matter how much I hunted online I couldnt find the striped stockings I was looking for. If anyone knows where to get light pink and dark pink striped tights let me know, I would be your best friend.
Even with the legs of my cosplay not being quite right the cosplay was very well received and I got a lot of fantastic photographs of myself and Amaimon that I will post on here once I get them sent to me. We were also asked to be featured in the Belfast Telegraph's article on Q-con along with a couple of other cosplayers.

Is it bad that I arrived home and started googling stuff for my skit for nom-con that myself and Amaimon are planning?

Cosplays, Christmas And Other Stuff

I thought since I havent written an update on here in ages that I should say hello and that I hope you all had a wonderful christmas. My own was fantastic and I'm now rather addicted to my new ereader. Did anyone else get anything interesting?
I've been on a bit of a cosplay buying craze lately. I purchased two wigs today and at some point, this week or next, I'll be getting my measurements taken for another cosplay. A few months ago I got myself a new job and lets just say that my cosplay making budget has increased quite a bit. Also my bf has introduced me to several new anime so I've now more characters that I want to get around to cosplaying. Sadly there is only one of me and only a certain amount of conventions in a year that I can manage.
So here's a list of the ones I am working on right now:
Mephisto from Ao No Exorcist (Will be worn to q-con & nom-con this year. I already have the wig & beard)
Leo/Loki from Fairy Tail (Wig ordered today)
Erza from Fairy Tail (Wig ordered today)
I think I'll save getting the rest of my Erza cosplay until next year. I just wanted to wig to also double as a Grell wig since I've changed my colour since last cosplaying Grell & I've been requested to cosplay Grell again.
I hope you all had a good Christmas. I just had to make a little update to show that I wasnt dead.

Cons and Stuff

Wow, two journal entries so close together, I must be ill or something. Either that or this is where I post all my cosplay things and I have been doing a lot of cosplay stuff lately.
Well last weekend was q-con which was awesome, much better than what last year's was. I ended up coming back with more merchandise than what I usually would and I met a ton of fantastic people, but fantastic people are usually what you find at conventions any way. I already have my cosplay for next year's q-con planned out but I'm not going to say what it is yet because it is a surprise, also I want to at least start getting bits of it before I properly announce it.
And on another cosplay related note myself and my Rin cosplayer (
) attended another cosplay event today and we came joint first place in the cosplay competition. We now have manga to split between us. They judged both of us together because we are kinda each other's accessories so it wouldnt be fair to judge one twin without the other. So the Okumura twins can now battle of who gets what prize.
It was a brilliant event though, once more filled with awesome people, many of which I would love to see again.

Well It Has Been A While~

It really has been ages since I wrote a journal and it must seem that I have been dead, with the exception of my favourites section randomly having things added to it. I just want to let you know that quite a few of my WIP (work in progress) cosplays have been scrapped, mainly because I was going to wear them to a con that I am no longer going to. So Claude is scrapped, Circus Grell is scrapped, Howl from Howls Moving Castle is scrapped and the Crow is scrapped. The Crow mainly got scrapped due to photographer plans falling through.
There is a cosplay upside though. As I have not been focusing on multiple cosplays I have one good one (if i say so myself) I am quite proud of it and I have been working on it for around two months now. This is probably the most work I've put into a cosplay since last year when I was cosplaying all the versions of Grell. It is Yukio Okumura from Ao No Exorcist. I will be wearing it to Q-con next week. If I am only going to do one con this year I might as well put as much effort as I can into it. I also have a Rin joining me: We will try to get a headshot of the cosplay this week that will do until I get a decent shot of the full cosplay. I still have a bit of stitching to do on the coat collar. Alas I ran out of time before I could order that little exorcist pin thing he wears on his coat. The belt took up too much time to work out.

And lastly I havent posted anything on my second account yet because my computer died and I lost a lot of written work in the process. I had a lot of the really important work backed up but all my shorts are gone. I'll have to try and find the written drafts. I am going to a writers event tomorrow which will be fun. Maybe I'll feel inspired when I get home.
There is a cosplay upside though. As I have not been focusing on multiple cosplays I have one good one (if i say so myself) I am quite proud of it and I have been working on it for around two months now. This is probably the most work I've put into a cosplay since last year when I was cosplaying all the versions of Grell. It is Yukio Okumura from Ao No Exorcist. 2nd DA Account?

This is just an idea, I have not got around to actually doing it yet, and I wont until I have something to put on it.
Due to the percentage of people who have been requesting me to write more and share it with you I have been considering creating another deviant art account. This is because I mainly use this account for cosplaying and I don't like the idea of mixing my writing with my cosplay. I like keeping everything organised and separate.
I know I have not written anything on here in a while and that is because I have been a little lax with my writing and I am not too sure about continuing the Kitsune series. (Sorry about that by the way) I will come up with something else, or just post random scribblings.
So do you think the 2nd account is a good idea?
